City Coach Service Increased on Routes 5 & 6
Effective immediately, service will be increased on Routes 5 and 6 by one hour. The new operating times for Routes 5 and 6 are:
- Monday through Friday: 7:00am – 11:00am and 3:00pm – 6:00pm
- Saturday: 8:00am – 11:00am and 3:00pm – 6:00pm
City Coach continues to monitor the recommendations for transit providers during the COVID-19 pandemic, and will keep the public updated of all changes to the City Coach bus system.

The California Health and Human Services Agency updated existing guidance related to COVID-19. The new Guidance for the Use of Face Coverings indicates people in California MUST wear face coverings when they are in certain situations, including those related to public transit:
- Waiting for or riding on public transportation or paratransit or while in a taxi, private car service, or ride-sharing vehicle;
- Driving or operating any public transportation or paratransit vehicle, taxi, or private car service or ride-sharing vehicle when passengers are present. When no passengers are present, face coverings are strongly recommended.
Requirements for Riding Vacaville City Coach:
- All City Coach passengers MUST wear a face covering over their mouth and nose while waiting for and riding City Coach buses. Exceptions are:
- Children Under the age of 2
- People with a medical condition/disability that prevents them from being able to wear a face covering
- Keep six feet apart from the bus operators and fellow riders while waiting for, and riding City Coach buses.
- Board at the rear doors on the buses. Those who need assistance from the ramp may board at the front doors, please signal the operator.
The health and safety of our passengers and drivers continues to be our number one priority. To provide additional protection to our community:
- We have increased our bus cleaning protocol to include daily disinfecting of all surfaces as well as fogging with a disinfectant several times per week.
- We have increased ventilation by opening windows. Please do not close the windows unless it presents a health risk.
Please follow the State’s guidance when traveling on Vacaville City Coach and all other public transit for the health and safety of our communities. You can find more information on the State’s website.

When riding Vacaville City Coach, we ask riders to:
- Stay six feet apart from the bus operators and fellow riders while boarding and riding the bus.
- Board at the rear doors on the buses. Those who need assistance from the ramp may board at the front doors, please signal the operator.
- The CDC is recommending the use of masks or simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus.
- Drivers may enforce reduced capacity on the buses for the safety of other riders.
- Customers showing flu-like symptoms may be denied boarding to safeguard the health of our operators and other riders.
- Fare collection on all City Coach buses remains suspended.
- City Coach continues to take extra measures to deep clean buses and transit centers daily, while closely monitoring the COVID-19 response from public health authorities.
All actions taken by City Coach are done with the health and safety of City Coach riders, operators, mechanics and employees in mind.

Important Route Changes
Effective Saturday, March 28, 2020, City Coach is implementing additional changes in response to COVID-19.
CITY COACH HOURS OF OPERATION
8:00AM – 11:00AM AND 3:00PM – 6:00PM
NO MIDDAY SERVICE
NO 6:00PM TRIPS
We will continue to provide hourly service from 8:00am-11:00am and 3:00pm-6:00pm.
- ROUTES 1 & 3 – TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
- ROUTES 5 & 6 – CHANGE FROM HALF HOUR TO HOURLY
- NO MIDDAY SERVICE MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY
- OPERATING HOURS 8:00AM-11:00AM AND 3:00PM-6:00PM
- NO 6:00PM TRIP ON ANY ROUTE
- NO FARE COLLECTION
- BOARDING FROM THE REAR DOOR

Temporarily Closed
There is no higher priority to our community than the safety of the riding public. City Coach is working closely with County and local officials to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. As public health recommendations shift to include mitigation of transmission, we are left with no other option than to cancel City Coach bus services until further notice.
Therefore, effective, March 20, 2020, City Coach will cancel all bus services within the City of Vacaville.
We will keep the public informed through the City Coach Facebook page as well as the website at citycoach.com.

Temporarily Reduced
There is no higher priority to our community than the safety of the riding public. City Coach is working closely with County and local officials to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. As public health recommendations shift to include mitigation of transmission, we are proactively taking steps to allow for the continuation of public transit services within the City of Vacaville.
Effective, March 20, 2020, City Coach will institute reduced services on all fixed route and special services (paratransit) buses as follows:
Fixed route services will run on a Saturday service schedule.
Special services (paratransit) will only provide service for essential trips.
